Training

We are all very lucky indeed that we have our very own Mr Motivator!

Vince is a sub 3 hour marathon runner, full IronMan completer and triathlete! He is also incredible at bringing out the best in people! He will prod, pressure, encourage and cajole all of us, in the process galvanising us into a team!

This page is for Vince to post our training log, and for the rest of us to comment, whinge, grumble and curse! But we will all thank him when we finally reach that signpost at Land’s End!

    Great start to the training. Pulled a muscle in my neck and therefore currently unable to cycle. Here’s hoping it will heal quickly.

    Ok, about 22 weeks to go so concentrating on Spring riding (next 12-14 wks) – lets look at 3 sessions a week broken down into efforts and times.

    effort defintions
    1 – recovery
    2 – base
    3 – tempo
    4 – hard
    5 – max

    W/c 21st Feb (intro) (L2 being 75%of ride), seated climbing, cadence 90+

    Midweek 1 – 45 mins level 1-2
    Midweek 2 – 35 mins level 1-2
    W/e – 120 mins – level 1-2 (in this session add 5 4min efforts at L3)

    W/c 28th Feb

    Midweek 1 – 45 mins level 1-2
    Midweek 2 – 40 mins level 1-2
    W/e – 130 mins – level 1-2 (in this session add 6 4min efforts at L3)

    Re-assessment with boys

    w/c 7th Mar

    Midweek 1 – 45 mins level 1-2
    Midweek 2 – 45 mins level 1-2
    W/e – 140 mins – level 1-2 (in this session add 7 4min efforts at L3)
